The year 2026 marks the 34th anniversary of the establishment of the Mosquito and Arbovirus Research Committee (MARC) in 1992, which remains Australia's first and only mosquito control research committee. Comprised of local government and state health departments, MARC has played a pivotal role in advancing Australian mosquito control efforts through robust, collaborative scientific research. This presentation will explore the foundational research of MARC, highlight key achievements, and examine the committee’s ongoing influence on the evolution of Australian mosquito control and arbovirus surveillance over the past three decades.

ESQ general meetings are held every second Tuesday of the month* at 1pm at the Ecoscience Precinct in Dutton Park, Brisbane (see maps below). There is no need to sign in to the ground floor Seminar Room 1.
There is limited street parking available so Public transport is highly recommended. Visitors are always welcome.
