A bit about ESQ

The Society promotes interaction and communication amongst entomologists. Members can attend regular meetings with guest seminar speakers on a variety of entomological topics; members receive a monthly News Bulletin with seminar summaries, news and announcements; members can attend organised collecting trips; members also receive a copy of our quarterly journal, The Australian Entomologist. Members are also eligible to be endorsed on the Society's collecting permit.

Want to join?

To join the Society, you need to Apply for Membership. Fill out your details on the New Provisional Member Signup application, including what type of membership you wish to apply for (General, Joint or Student; see details on the right). In your application, you are asked for an ESQ nominator. If you do not know anyone in the Society to nominate you, then simply provide us with a few sentences about your interest in entomology and why you wish to join. Your application will be sent for approval by the ESQ council, which meets once a month. Upon approval, you will receive a welcome email and an invoice for payment. Your membership remains pending until payment is received.

New provisional member
Apply to be a new member by completing the New ESQ Membership Application. Your application will be received and assessed by the ESQ Council - you will be notified when your application is approved. When your application has been approved, you will receive an email and be asked to pay an annual membership fee (unless you are a student applicant). You will have 30 days to pay your membership fee in order to finalise your membership application and gain full membership privileges.

The Australian Entomologist Journal Subscription
The Australian Entomologist is a non-profit Journal published in four parts annually by the Entomological Society of Queensland (ESQ) and is devoted to entomology of the Australian Region, including New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and islands of the south-western Pacific. Articles are accepted from amateur and professional entomologists. NOTE: If you are applying for or are already an ESQ member, your membership includes a digital copy of the Australian Entomologist Journal at no additional cost.

Need to renew your Membership?

To renew, log in to your account and renew online. Check that your details are correct and update if necessary. If your membership dues are too long overdue (more than 30 days), then you will not be able to renew online and will have to contact us directly to renew. Memberships are due to be renewed on the first of January each year.
