Hot Tiger Beetles

A recent article in Entomology Today explores the amazing tiger beetles that only live in and around the hot springs at Yellowstone National Park. The tiger beetle, Cicindelidia hemorrhagica, lives where substrate temperatures can exceed 50°C. Researchers found that the ventral plates of the beetle helped reflect heat but there is still much more to learn about these unusual beetles. Read more:
