Fossilised termite nest from ancient polar forests in Victoria

Distinctive-shaped fossil poo helped scientists identify a fossilised termite nest. It provides evidence of termite activity in the cool polar forests of Australia during the Early Cretaceous. They also found the poo from wood-eating orobatid mites in the termite nest! An interesting read!
